CinemaFrame Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 30, 2026
This policy describes how the CinemaFrame browser extension (the “Extension”), published by Danyal Asif (“we,” “us”), handles information. CinemaFrame lets you enlarge the visible video or video embed on the current webpage so it fills more of the browser window in an in-tab “cinema” style, without relying on operating-system full-screen for that core behavior.
Limited use (Chrome Web Store–aligned summary)
User data accessed or stored by the Extension in connection with its features is not sold, not used to serve advertisements, and not used for purposes unrelated to providing the Extension’s stated functionality (enlarging in-tab video playback and related UI). We describe what runs locally versus what we collect below.
Overview
The Extension adjusts layout and playback presentation on pages where you choose to use it. We do not operate a CinemaFrame backend service for storing or processing users’ browsing data or page content on our servers. We do not use the Extension to transmit page content, browsing history, analytics events, or personal identifiers from your device to us or to third-party servers for CinemaFrame itself.
Information we collect
Data collected by the developer (publisher) through the Extension: None for the behaviors described above. We do not receive copies of your webpages, viewing activity, or Chrome storage contents from the Extension.
Data handled on your device or by Google as part of Chrome:
- The Extension may use chrome.storage.sync (Chrome’s synced storage APIs) solely to persist your preferences, such as display mode, scale, and UI toggles. That data stays within Chrome’s storage and sync mechanisms; we do not receive it on our servers via the Extension.
- To resize or present the enlarged player when you activate the feature, the Extension runs script and applies CSS only as needed on the relevant tab to adjust layout and UI for that mode. That processing happens locally to provide the feature; it is not used to build marketing profiles, sell data, or run ads.
If you enable Chrome Sync, Google’s own terms and privacy policies govern how synced data may be backed up across your signed-in devices; that is distinct from any collection by the Extension publisher described here.
How we use information
Preferences stored in Chrome storage are used only to restore your settings when you use the Extension. In-page scripting and styling are used only to implement the enlarged in-tab viewing experience when you use the feature on a page.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We do not share user data from the Extension with advertisers for ad targeting. We do not disclose Extension-related user data to third parties except where required by law or if we ever restructure such that a successor needs to honor this policy (in which case we would update this page).
Retention
We do not retain user data on our own systems through the Extension. Preference data remains in your Chrome profile (and in Google’s sync infrastructure if you use Chrome Sync) according to your browser and Google account settings until you remove it or uninstall the Extension.
Children
The Extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. If you believe a child has provided information to us in a way that concerns you, contact us using the details below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Please review this page periodically. Your continued use of the Extension after changes means you accept the updated policy.
